RE: [ST] New Tires
It's so complicated because of one word - GREED.
The damn shops can't compete with mail order tyres so they charge outrageous prices to change them for us. THe cheapest way is to bring your wheels to a race track on race day and have them changed and balanced there, approximately $8 each to change and balance.

Subject: Re: [ST] New Tires
When you are saying ...I bought new tires... who is actually installing
them? Your bike store or yourself? I bought a new rear tire and had to
return it with a loss because nobody would install for me. At the end it got
really complicated: dealer wanted $75.- to take the rear wheel off and
reinstall it. It would have cost me another $25.- for the tire place to
change and balance the tire. So I said enough of this and luckily worked out
a deal with the dealer: $200.- for a BT 014 installed or I go somewhere
else. Why does it have to be so complicated?
