Thanks for the suggestions.  The alpineroads.com site looks very handy 
for working what to do - pity that it looks like all the plausible 
passes I could use are closed in May.  Shame.  But might see if I can 
organise a route that will allow me to end up on the Col de Rousset - 
which appears to be open and looks like a great ride.

Hadn't thought of photos (doh!) but good idea.  I'll take some pictures 
along the way too...
