I know this is a bit late, but I'd have to agree with Andy. The engine =
light probably had something to do with having the tank off (i.e. fuel =
lines disconnected)
=20
I say this because whilst I was cleaning my idle air stepper motor unit, =
everything was disconnected. I also turned on the key to see if the =
motor moved more freely after being cleaned. =20
=20
My guess is the ECU probably thought the gas ran dry.

My Tiger just did the same thing when I was done installing the =
Pro-Oiler. Most likely disconnecting the battery, but the tank removal =
may be in the equation.
=20
It cleared itself in one evening Thursday. Fellsmere/Vero (12 miles) =
off for 10 minutes, Vero/Stuart (50 miles) off for an hour, Stuart/Ft =
Pierce (30 miles) off for 5 minutes. Light went out when I restarted in =
Ft. Pierce.

My question is , why would this service cause the "check engine" light =
to come on?
