Sorry Marc, been away from the PC for a few days.

Pop the ST onto the centre stand and jack up the front using a trolley jack 
under the sump.
Make sure that you put a piece of soft wood between the jack and the bike 
and don't crush the oil lines or plastics.

This will take all the weight off the front end and allow you to safely 
remove the top yoke.
