[ST] '00 Sprint ST Stearing Head bearings

My '00 Sprint ST needs stearing head bearings. Moving the bars back and forth shows a very noticable notch. I have not taken anything apart yet.
I would like some info, any info, from people that have replace the stearing head bearings. Stuff like, what tools are needed; a cheap place to get bearings; things to watch out for.
