 Sounds about right to me. After a week on the V Strom, if I was to do a long trip (i.e. several months) on a bike I would choose an adventure tourer. Very comfortable, easy to ride and able to be loaded up with everything, espresso machine, beer cooler etc etc.

It seems to me that many people are buying adventure tourers to use as
sport tourers with comfortable ergonomics that deal well with the
frost heaves etc. They never plan to do any serious off roading with
them
