I think that's because it's a 125GP bike.  At least it sounds like a two-stroker, that's why he's down on straiight away power and can carry corner speed (because it's lighter).  If it were a 250 he'd be able to beat the SV's.  I've seen a guy beat 650's on his 250, or at least place in the top 3-5.

Wow - awesome.  I lost a lot of time last night watching these...
   
  The "Stalking the SV's" is interesting.  The rider with the camera seems to have better corner speed, brakes later, and is generally a faster rider.  But his bike is down on straight-away speed.  He loses distance and gets passed always on the front stretch, and sometimes on the back.  A shame really - with more straight-away speed/power, he would probably be out in front.
