Re: [ST] real world bikes

Damn! Looks like I have to sell a few guns and buy another bike! The
father-in-law won't be happy about that (gun store owner).

<grin>

Here's more research material.

IMO - Motorcycles are like firearms, in all practicality you only need three
in the real world.

For firearms:
1) Pistol (protection)
2) shotgun (all round versatility)
3) high power rifle (big game)
Anything more than that just collect dust.

For motorcycles:
1) touring bike (i.e. goldwing for leisurely strolls),
2) sport bike (i.e. R-1, to curb a need for speed and handling)
3) dirt (to get down and dirty)

Anything more than that just sit and collect dust.

Sounds like excellent research material for my monologue that tries to talk
a friend out of a new Hayabusa as an 'around-town' bike, in Wash DC area
traffic. His previous one was stolen. I failed to talk him outof that one,
even when he was sitting on a 2002 Daytona and liked it. Now he want's
another 'busa, so I'm gearing up again.
