Re: [ST] Anyone in New England?

I agree with you in terms of the State not having the right to tell you to
take care of yourself, but there are a number of ways this has been trampled
already in our daily lives, whether it's enforced seatbelt laws, anti-
smoking regulations, or whatever. The
damned do-gooders and know-betters are already influencing all of our lives.
Major can of worms I'll not open. Unfortunately, when you provide the
option by not having a helmet law, a fair percentage of people will choose
not to wear one, effectively driving up medical and insurance costs, and
putting themselves, and more importantly, their PASSENGERS who may also not
be wearing a helmet, at great risk. The number of riders I see here in
Connecticut who ride without helmets is staggering- virtually NO cruiser
riders wear a lid, and the squids in the summer might as well be naked for
lack of gear. I'm all for protecting individual rights, but this is an
issue that I feel requires legislation to protect people from poor
decisions.
