Had you actually priced out insurance specifically for a Daytona 955i?
There's a history of insurance companies not knowing what a Daytona
is....and doing those cheap. BTW, I dunno where you are located, but a 2004
Honda CBR1000RR just showed up on the Boston Craig's List for $6K. Pretty
cheap, and looks MINT. (Stolen??)
If I had my choice, I'd go with an RSV Mille. I rode a friend's, and it fit
me PERFECT. Plus, I loved it's handling and power curve.

So I've been looking into getting a sport bike..... I was wondering what the
insurance difference would be for different models. I wasn't sure exactly
what I wanted but was looking into GSXR-750, RC-51, Aprilia
Mille, CBR 929rr, ZX-9r, and of course a Daytona 955i. So I called my
insurance company and HOLY CRAP!!!! Almost all of these bikes (looking at
2001's/2002's) would increase my current insurance rate by over $2000 per
year. I guess that takes them all right out. That's ridiculous.
The current Sprint is around $800 for the year. Hopefully the new one will
be similarly priced for insurance, and I'll make a decision as to whether or
not to get one of those. Until then, guess I'm sitting tight.
