Sounds like you have a guardian angel.  glad it held up for the trip home.

As an aside, the parts cost for the front wheel assembly is a lot high.  
Early ST front wheel assemblies are $620.00 and later St front wheel are 
$500.00.  Not entirely sure what the difference between the two are, but 
they must have changed the wheels at some point during the production 
run.  You should be able to get both wheels for around $1200.00 in 
silver or black.
