If this started at the 12,000 mile check, it sounds like they may have tightened your valves up a bit too much and it's leaking compression on startup.

So, I finally managed to get my hands on this "Redline" stuff, and ran half
a bottle in each of 2 tanks of gas. Unfortunately, it didn't help. And now
the bike seems to be having trouble starting in warmer temps (it was 63 here
this afternoon, and it sputtered a bit), so it doesn't appear to be specific
to cold weather.
Any other ideas?
