Re: [ST] Blue Ridge Parkway feasible mileage in a day?

 Steve,
I've been riding the BRP since the late sixties and totally agree with you.
Maybe my chicken feathers are showing but "averaging" 80 seems a little
high, but you can definitely move. You are also right on in that there are
very few surprise turns and those tunnels can be flat dangerous for a lot of
reasons. I'm finding more and more people who are getting nailed by LEO's
in the Deals Gap, Robbinsville, Franklin general area. One guy got hit
twice on 129 in the same day from radar in trucks or other non-official
types of vehicles. Deals Gap is getting to be a magnet for morons and guys
with a death wish who are pissing off a lot of the touristas who generate
lots of cash in that area.
Rod

PS - That area of N.Ga, Tn, SC and NC has lots of roads that are as much or
more fun than 129 through Deals Gap with less traffic and usually less law
enforcement.
