Wow Steve, good memory! I toured with Sandy for a short while a long time ago. 
You had a pretty good gig with some regular TV shows if I remember, hopefully
work is still plentiful out there for you guys.

Thanks Rod, as Steve guessed I'm well out of warranty and I've been involved
with several really good dealers in the past.  The continuing frustration is
that (if you remember) this is the bike Triumph replaced for me when they
couldn't fix a similar (though much worse) problem with my 2000.

I guess I'm ready to spend my own money and have a dealer do some actual
trouble shooting. I'm wondering if I brought it in now while it's too cold &
snowy to do any actual test riding if there's anything they can really do.

I doubt if they did any of the suggested checks while it was in for the 12k
service and previously I think all they've done is mess with the CO levels and
tunes.
