I've got a couple of dumb questions that I haven't been able to find
the answers to. What is the difference between a Gas Gas 280 Pro and a Gas
Gas 280 TXT? And what are minder bikes?
Difference: about 40 pounds.
The TXT280s are great bikes, though the technology is dated. I have two of
'em, both of which I rode today. I love them.
The Pro version is substantially lighter, more compact, and has different
steering geometry. They are also great bikes. I have a 200cc model. It
steers much quicker, feels light as a feather, and can jump like a kangaroo.
So, which version do I like better? For trial competition I like the Pro.
I can turn circles within the premimeter of a nickel. OTOH, maintaining
this thing is a pain in the ass. Anyone with adult hands will have
difficulty working on it. Crankcase volume? 325 ccs. Get it? Mucho
compacto!
For anything outside of pure competition, I love the 280 (non-pro). Go
anywhere, rock solid and extremely dependable.
