When brand new, I found that the AV45 front was like having a
"knobbly" front tyre at low speed. I don't know if it was squirming,
the tread blocks were moving around, or what the cause really was, but
the feeling was definitely "odd" as I went round the first few
roundabouts immediately after having them fitted.
After a while (I don't remember how long, but it was days rather than
weeks) either this feeling disappeared or I got used to it. They've
been every bit as good as BT-020s in the wet; in fact I rate them
higher; and have been fine over commuting, playing on some twistier
dry roads and simply trying to get home alive in a torrential downpour
a few weeks ago.
It's a bit like the riding position when riding the ST for the first
time. It's just a bit different from what you're used to, so you have
to persevere and adapt. Just like drinking Guinness too, but that's
another story ....
