RE: [ST] SS brake lines

I'll have to disagree. I had to replace the seals on my RS at about 12,000 miles. I tried the cleaning thing everyone mentions and it didn't work. Maybe because I didn't do it regularly, I don't know. All I know is it didn't work for me. I spent an hour pushing the pistons in & out cleaning and wiping until I didn't see any more crud appear the next time they cam out. I can say it didn't work. They (two) still stuck.

Besides, changing the seals isn't that bad. First time took a little while because I was meticulous, paying close attention. But after doing it once, it's a piece of cake. The only critical part is making sure the piston is aligned perfectly when you're re-installing it. Once scratch and you just bought new pistons. Scratch the inside of the caliper and you just ate calipers. Not to worry. It's really not as bad as it sounds. You just need to be extra careful is all.

The seals are cheap too. Only 14BP per caliper I got them from Sprint mfg.

Me personally. I just change the seals when things start sticking and be done with it.

Replaceing the seals will never be required. Well not till the bikes done mega miles anyway.
It PJ1 is very good at keeping the UK winter road salt out of the calipers.
