I was thinking the same thing based on my experience with the RS125.  If the equipment is able to detect pre-detonation to keep count, then the signal is there to make the ECU adjust the ignition timing.

The two strokers are carb instead of EFI, so all we need to do is detect it.  Knowing it's happening then adjust the timing to try to fix it.  

On EFI, one would just need to figure out how to change the ECU to accept this signal, know it's meaning, then adjust the ignition map as necessary.  Simple. ;-)

When at the track last week someone I know with a 2-stroke race bike
was showing me the knock sensor/counter he has on it. In this case it
just keeps a count of the knocks.
