[ST] Uncontrolled Experiment

With all this discussion I decided to fill up last night with 87 octane. I took 4.596 gal. so there's was still a little 89 octane left in the tank, but not enough to make a difference.
[Side note: If I went 220 miles and took 4.596 gal to fill up, does that mean I got 47MPG?]

Riding into work this morning I didn't experience any pre-detonation that I could notice. I even wanked on the gas hard to wheelie and no knocking. Conditions were about 75F @ 90% humidity.

I'll see what is does on the commute home when the temp is 90ish with 90% humidity and the tarmac is HOT, to see if the higher air temperatures make a difference.

Based on the thermo dynamics equation PV=mRT, and the temperature increases with pressure on compression, the the hotter late day air being consumed should also aid in increasing the air/fuel mixture as it's being compressed. Therefore I should be experiencing pre-detonation "knock" later this afternoon if my RS has an issue with the 87 octane.

Before Mr. Doo has a chance to tell me this BS is BS, go ride. Sprints
use the middle of the road stuff as spec'd by the factory in every corner
of the world.
