There is a race mirror that extends sold by Jack Lilley's for RS's and I
think they were for ST's too.  This isn't the block extenders that Sky
King has. I tried those first and they were fuglier than plain stock, at
least I think so.

I've put BMW R1100S mirrors on mine and I really like them.

They are pricey and a pain to fit. IMO they were worth the effort.  You
can modify a whole bunch of mirrors to fit.  It just depends on how handy
you are and what you think looks good.  Like you said, though, other than
those Lilley mirrors, if they still sell them, I could not find any
aftermarket place that had a bolt on.  I searched the web for several
months looking before I went to the BMW's.
