I wouldn't have believed it either, but I was crewing for Johnny
Bettencourt (#50 - Honda Support team) at Laguna Seca in the early
'80s when Freddie Spencer came in from practice - or maybe qualifying
- - on the 1025cc V4 superbike and he'd very noticeably bent one side
of the bar against the gyroscopic (not centrifugal) forces to
countersteer it into turn 2 on the old track. Strong kid!
