The gyroscopic effect of a motorcycle wheel and that of a bicycle are

I have to object to "..only counter-steering can initiate a turn."
otherwise I agree that with so many people being able, in practice, to
get powered two-wheelers (PTWs in the UK) to go around corners it's not
a life-threatening topic.

In my days of pedal-cycling, I could get round most corners with no
hands on the bars but that is because of the bend in the forks.
