I use a couple of pieces of PVC pipe that I've cut to wrap around the forks
when I put them in a vise. They double as my fork seal drivers. Another
alternative is using a carpenter's vise with wooden jaws. I keep saying I
going set one up low on the side of my work bench so I can clamp the lower
tube in it and actually see down the upper tube as I add oil etc.......
A 1 1/4 inch PVC coupler will also work as a seal driver as long as you
remove the rib in the middle.
I would also highly recommend the Motion Pro Fork Oil Level Gauge.
