Re: [ST] Former bikes

1982: Honda 400 (first and last Japanese bike)
1983-1985: BMW R100 RT.Took me all around the UK where
I was living then.
1985-1988: BMW K100. Weapon of choice for European
autobahns but was nice on backroads, including very
snowy ones on a trip to the Elefanttreffen in 87.
1988-1989: BMW K75 (very forgettable bike)
1990-1992: Triumph Bonneville 1986. One of the last
built in Meriden. Bought and ridden in Sweden. Was
great but...temperamental.
1992-1994: Triumph Trident 750 (Hinckley). Hey, you
had to support the rebirth effort.
1994-1996: Triumph Trident 900. My all time favourite
but had to sell it before moving to the U.S.
1997-2000: Three years of bike drought in NYC.
2000-2002: BMW F650ST (told my wife a bike was the
best way to commute in the DC aera).
2002- ?: Triumph Sprint ST 99 (told my wife I needed
to commute faster and go to West Virginia on weekends
to buy croissants...)
2004 - ? Moto Guzzi CX100 1980: The Triumph's
reliability was depriving me of much beloved wrenching
sessions on cold winter weeks.
1984 - ? BMW R80ST: Got it from a friend who quit
riding after his first child was born. I use it when
back to France on vacations. Nimble as a ballerina,
it's a keeper.

So
5 beemer
4 Triumph
1 Guzzi
1 Honda.
and about 200K kilometers (ballpark estimate, never
bothered counting)

Triumph may catch up BMW in the coming years but the
Guzzi stock could expand (I love that 1100 Breva).
Japanese bikes will stay on the bottom of the league.
Rode a 600 Hornet and a Suz' 650 DL recently and was
not too impressed.
