Temperature may be the factor that seems to influence when your pressure
regulator whines, but it varies from one bike to the next.  Normally
it's only audible for a few seconds after you turn on the key.

You could probably get it replaced under warranty if you complain enough
or have a particularly sympathetic dealer, but there is no guarantee
that the next one will be any better.  It may take some time for the
symptom to re-appear too.  I've heard also that changing the orientation
of how it is mounted can also have an effect (has to do with resonance).

In any event, no 'failure' is imminent and many dealerships will simply
tell you it's 'normal' and that you should ignore it.
