[ST] My latest Adventure...........

Was with the ADV riders. Now I don't ride a GS or KLR or somesuch, but I do have a DR350s in the garage. So I decided to head out to what is known as the "Beastfeast".

I wanted to ride over on Friday, hang out, ride with them on Saturday, hang out, ride some more on Sunday, hang out, and ride back home on Monday. That was not to be the case.

I ended up having to work on Friday, and had about resigned myself to skipping the gig. But, at the last minute a few guys cajoled me into making the trip anyway (they called me a pussy). Now I am not one to back away from a challenge :-)

So after working all day, I headed out for Gloster MS at 9:00pm. I intended to go as far as I could then get a room. At 2:30am I was in Monroe LA. having eggs and bacon at the Waffle House. I saw no reason to stop for the night, so I just kept going, all the way to the "Rednecks" fine acerage, outside Gloster. Just outside of Vicksburg the nods hit me and I had to stop for a quick 30 minute power nap on a Iron Butt Motel (picnic table). I hit major fog about 60 miles from my goal and it was tough going.

Made it to the Rednecks at 7:30, just late for breakfast but there was still food left. I scarfed down an excellent omlett and bacon made by the host and started making aquaintences. A good group of rowdies in attendance. We spent the day shooting the shit and shooting skeet and generally having a great time.

The main group went out for a day ride, that included a few dirt roads, so I just hung with the other road riders. I could tell 5 pages of stories, but I will just left the pictures tell the tale.

I got up Sunday after partying till 2:30 in the morning. That was 44 hours straight since I was last in a bed. My sleeping bag and thermarest never felt so good that night. At 10:30 Sunday morning I was back on the road and just did the ride straight thur back home instead of dawdling for the extra day. I figured I would need the Monday to recover. I was right. 492 miles back home in 8 1/2 hours.

All in all, one hell of a good time. These are some hardcore MoFo's. My pics aren't all emcompasing by any means. But at least a little flava of the goings on.............
