Greetings Rupert,
  On my 03 ST the side holes are 2 1/4 inches below the screw that  holds the 
rear red side reflectors (center of screw to center of screw) The  center 
screw, in the "U" bracket is 1 3/4 inches above the bottom edge of the  standard 
rear fender/mudguard. Hope this helps, if you got any more questions  just let 
me know.
