Re: [ST] RS] chain adjustment

Neat idea, and it immediately reminded me of what I used to do at home
before I got the centre stand for my RS.

I would put the bike on the side stand with the front brake locked with
velcro, and then use a hydraulic automotive floor jack (bought years
ago) to jack up the bike on the rightside frame just about where the
centre stand bolts on. A hockey puck prevented the jack from marring the
frame (hey, I'm a Canuck :o)). Once the rear tire clears the floor
you're in business. It worked like charm, the only problem being that
it didn't help you when you were out on the road.

I also see (not surprisingly) that the Quick Stand site does not list a
swingarm spool for the Sprint (or any Triumph for that matter).

it and your side stand.

Net effect is that it holds the rear up, can be tucked under the seat
for transport, and makes lubing the chain on those trips easier too.

A Speed Triple-riding friend made one from a length of wood dowel. He
uses some wire to hold it to the front of the swingarm while he tips
the bike [AFTER strapping on the front brake lever]. The bike seems
to be more stable with the steering full left.
