RE: [ST] Metzler Z6 Roadtec end of life

Holy moly. You go through tires like crap through a goose! Are the roads you
ride of a particularly abrasive nature?

I went through 3 sets of BT020's. I got 8,000 out of each, though they
perhaps should have been swapped out at 7K to be safe. I then went through 4
rear and 2 front Metzeler Sportec M-1. Those were good for 4500-4800 (rear)
and twice that on the front, and no more. I have 6,000 on my first set of
Michelin Pilot Road, and see they'll get better mileage than the BT020 (and
I like them better too!)

I do ride pretty hard at times, even do a track day or two per year. No
"chicken strips" on my tires. But I just cannot figure out how to burn off a
set of any of those tires in 15% LESS than 4600 miles. My God, what would
you get from a set of supersport tires??

FWIW, I weigh about 200lbs, plus full riding gear and always about a 10
pounds of tank bag. Does the load weight have a big effect on wear? Just
wondering.

I got just over 4600 miles. For me this is about 5-15% better then Michilen
Pilot Road, Avon AV46ST, and Bridgestone BT020.

Of coarse none of the miles were during the "final night". Thats the point.
At the end they wear out without miles.
