I've installed mudguard extensions on my last two Triumphs using black
RTV silicone - it's available in auto parts stores - and had no
problems in over 60k cumulative miles.  If you run a bead from side to
side on the contact surfaces, you'll have fewer nasty stains on the
outside of the fender extension when riding in the wet.  

"We don't need no stinking rivets."  ;O)
