Re: [ST] Helmet Life

I got three years from an old discussion thread several years ago that came
to the conclusion that most manufactures state five years, it sits on the
shelf for an unknown amount of time before purchase, and after three years
of wear, most people had experienced the helmet had loosened up enough from
wear that it was no longer "snug" enough for proper protection. The general
consensus at the time was to start looking for a new helmet after about
three years. That's what I do and it seems to work well for me. Try this
experiment - try on your current helmet and see how it fits, then try on a
new one in the same size and type/maker and feel the difference.

Hope that helps!

Jonathan

years. I'd be interested in reading their opinion as to why 3 instead of 5.
