I wouldn't be too worried about the effects of UV on the outside
(plastic trim no doubt, but not the main shell), and it's pretty hard
for UV to have much effect on the inside (too much other padding in the
way)

It's the crushing of the styrofoam on the inside that helps decelerate
your brain cells.  If you hit something hard enough to crack the outer
shell you're probably a gonner or at least a veggie anyway.
