This is a very timely thread as I am looking for a compressor and had no idea 
that there was so much around.

Can someone give me a bit of a rundown on whats good and whats not in terms 
of oil or non oil, belt or direct drive. I will be using it for various things 
such as air tools but also to run a motorcycle tyre changing machine. If 
course noise is a big concern as I dont want to annoy the neighbours.
