Donald, the sales manager at Triumph Cape Town, did a sub 1m 25 lap on his ST1050 in May at a Killarney track day, and I watched him do it.

That puts him right up there with the middle of the fast group, all R1s etc .

I saw him go, its hugely amusing to watch someone who knows what he's doing blow away guys on 2005 Super bikes - there were guys coming up to his bike and looking it over, trying to figure out why they couldn't keep up with him. Its completely stock, not even an aftermarket pipe.

I spoke to him about it afterwards, and he said he wouldn't push it that hard again on an ST, he had a few hairy moments when he overwhelmed the back suspension pushing the bike beyond what it was designed for.

Still, its nice to know what the bike is capable of, on stock BT020's.

My lap times are between 1.38 and 1.45, towards the bottom of the medium group, but a lot quicker than the 1.50's I was running when I did my last session.
