[ST] Rocket vs. ST vs. Beemer

I did a breakfast run with some Triumph guys on Sunday.

There were three new ST1050's, me on my RS, a Rocket and a new BMW K1200RS.

The rocket is MASSIVE in the flesh. Beautiful attention to detail, and it sounds awesome with the Triumph aftermarket pipes. To me its what a Harley wants to be when it grows up.

In a straight line it kept up with us no problem, but he turned back after 150kms.

We did about 500kms, including a run through the Koo pass, which I've never done before. Absolutely magic -no cars, no humans, no side roads, perfect visibility and a good surface, fast sweeping bends followed by loooong flat straights.

One of the guys challenged the Beemer on the straight sections, the Beemer won but only just.

I lost my bottle at 210kms/h - but this guy showed me his max speed after the run - 255kms/h, and it was still pulling.

The more I see of the ST1050 the more impressed I get.

cheers
