Re: [ST] oil

Two things:

1 - I can't remember the specifics of my conversation with mobil back when I was looking into this, but I do recall that while the red-cap was pretty much the same oil, there were some differences between Triumph's blend and the MX4T. Mobil recommended using the red-cap rather than the MX4t.

2 - what is the "no longer expected in March" comment on the 675 about? And why the purchase of graphite and the commentary on red being faster? Something happen?

On another list, I found out about Mobil 1 MX4T, which I can buy at the
local Auto Zone. The threads on the other site recommended 10W-40 vice the
15W-50 that the Triumph usually offers in their branded jug. IIRC, more
power and better fuel consumption, not to mention the chicks really dig it.
Oh, that's right, this is 3 April. The price at Auto Zone was cheaper than
buying Triumph branded, maybe around $35 for 4 US quarts. Not wildly
cheaper, but available in more stores than just the local Trumpet shop.
Have not used any yet, so nothing to report. The MX4T is a
motorcycle-specific synthetic, or at least the labeling asserts such. A
friend of mine has used this oil in a 2000 R1 and a 2003 Viffer, and he
really likes the oil.

definitely a faster color)
