  Hi Mike

That's a little low, although you can usually figure on losing more like 20% on the way to the back wheel, but you should have at least 86 bhp.

You don't say WHICH 'latest tune'. Stock or race? Even with a stock can it's well worth having the race tune uploaded, since this makes it run much better at low rpm as well as boosting the redline.

It might have been run in too gently? A friend of mine complained of lack of power in a bought-new bike several years ago, and when we stripped it down the bores were glazed with a thick glossy honey-coloured layer. We could still see the hone-marks from when the bores were made! As well as low power it had been using oil. He hadn't worked it hard enough in the early miles so the rings had never seated properly.

We 'rebored' it by just using the stock size grinder to break the glaze and take it back to bare metal, put in new piston rings and dino oil, then FORCED him (against his will) to ride it lightly but using lots of gear changes and all the revs for the first 500 miles or so, before changing to synthetic. It ran beautifully thereafter.
