Sounds like raising the gearing would be beneficial, unless drag racing is key. I'm loving the 48mpg average on my '01. Am I correct in recalling that the 01-04 STs are geared higher than the 99-00 models?

I'm averaging 37-38 mpg on my 2006. I expect I'll get better than that on
a pure highway trip, which I haven't taken yet.
