Re: [ST] Stoner Run

I kind of figured you ment something like "too bad he did not win". But qualifing is a one lap wonder contest. In practice you don't know who has done long runs. The race is about the whole race distance. i.e. only leading the last lap counts.
Racing does have its elements of luck; like a mechanical failure or somebody knocking you down in the first corner. But a poor tire choice is not luck, it is part of setup and an important part of what a team must do in practice.
I looked at the lap times and Stoner did what he did (1:58's) for almost the whole race. He only lost some speed in the last few laps, and he just coasted home on the last lap. The guys that beat him did a lot more 1:57's; are full factory rides; and have more experience and more experienced teams.
Without a doubt Stoner has been great (so far).
