i can agree with your sentiments, but where is the reponsibility of the
person driving the truck? the more people act like sheep then the more they
will get herded into pens.
Inm the UK it illegal to use a cell phone whilst driving - unless on a
handsfree system. There are not the ammount of Police to enforce it when you
compare how many people have cars. it will only start to bite when it hits
peoples pockets and that will probably be when they lose out on insurance
claims becaue they were using the phone. I drive past watching people
texting on their phones whilst driving. They dont know im there!
Do i want more police to be paid for by higher taxes? No.
But i dont want to be killed either.

It's happening here too (Australia), in fact just about everywhere where
governments have become aware of this alternative taxation system.  As
someone
mentioned earlier, if they are serious about road safety then make people
accountable for their actions.  If you're a dork driving down the freeway
with
a loose ladder in the back of your truck and that ladder then flys off and
kills someone then the driver of the truck is not given a slap on the wrist
but
life in prison.  But there's no money in that is there?
