Re: [ST] '01 Service Manual

Joni,

I know your just north of Seattle and Beaverton isn't exactly local, but if
your dealer in Issaquah has trouble getting what you want, you could try the
local dealer Rick and I frequent.

Heck, you could even make an early morning jaunt to join us for breakfast
the first Saturday of the month for a RAT breakfast. We then go over to the
shop for doughnuts (dessert) and coffee.

I agree with Rick about the Avon's.

I'm going to buy the real-meal-deal from Triumph. It's $75 - which is
probably why I didn't buy it in the first place - but it looks like the
Clymer/Haynes are about $32 at minimum on Ebay and online bookstores.

Until that comes in though, could someone give me the torque value for the
brake bolts?
Thanks Rick for the values for the front/rear axle.

Note to self: Don't ever use Ride Motorsports in Woodinville, WA again! I
say this to myself every time I go there but it's hard to remember when it's
only 2 miles from my house.
This time they told me they couldn't get a BT020 from their sister shop (a
Triumph dealer in Issaquah) but when I called the sister shop, the parts
manager says he never received a call and they stock lots of them! Sounds
like Ride was just trying to sell what they had on hand. Nice! These guys
are completely into dirt bikes and have never cared about street bikes. I
think they're on display only to pull in a few buyers a year but they're
certainly not serious about being in the street market.

Unless you can find a used one, you'll likely need to get your manual
from a dealer. There are no significant differences in the '99 - '01
models. Just get the latest issue available that applies to that
model year range. Be aware there were some typos in the first
edition. Mine - part number 3850760 - is issue 3, dated 10/99 and
seems to be accurate.
