Re:  your Corbin:   I had the same problem, which is made worse if you 
have the full-blown reinforcement for the rear rack, which distorts the 
mounting position, somewhat.  I had to shave the rubber bumpers down quite 
far for the pin to be able to reach the catch.  Speaking of the locator 
pin (on the seat), it is slightly adjustable and I had to muck around with 
it for a while.  I've had the seat >20,000 miles, now, and it pulls off 
and on as easily as the stock seat did, so hang in there - you'll be 
grateful you did if you've been using the stock torture device.
