Re: [ST] Metzeler Z6

Rick

I am a big bas!ard, 280+ Lbs, which does not help much.
Also I ride very hard, the rubber mould hairs are gone from the whole tyre by the time I am home from the dealer.

The Metzeler wore in a strange way, the sides went before the centre. Right hand side had no tread for the last 500 miles. Even more the front tyre was cupping so much that there was cracks through to the canvas.

Maybe I had a bad front tyre????

Will not be going with the Z6 again.

These new 020s are very different to ride with, they feel as if they are over inflated transferring every small bump on the road through to me, but I like them......

Rik.

How would you describe your riding style, Rik?

Have you tried Avon's AV 45/46? Not an overly aggressive rider, I get
5-7k miles from the rears and 10-12k from the fronts and prefer them
to 020's in every respect.

I've got a set of Pirelli Diablo Strada's - the Z6's sister tire -
sitting in the garage. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up.
