Re: [ST] Third eye bulb

I must have hands the size of hamhocks. I do wear the largest gloves I can
get. I could do one of them but the other was a total pain. I don't
understand the problem with the "third eye" when the fairing is off. If you
just bite the bullet and take the fairing off it does not take that much
time and you are absolutely sure the rubber is fitting correctly sealing the
light chamber. The third eye just twists out but you usually break that
little bulb which is no big loss because it is only there for a theft alarm.

First things first. Unless you have hands the size of ham hocks, the
headlight bulbs can be replaced without removing any fairing panels.
The trick is to turn the steering to increase access.

That said, it's difficult if not impossible to change the third eye
bulb with the nose fairing in place.
Good luck,

went without a problem. The third eye bulb is another story. That
thing is
buried all the way in the back under all that stuff. I couldn't get my
hands
on the socket at all. How did you change it? I guess half the cockpit
has to
come out first. I figured it wasn't worth my time, maybe another time
if I
don't have anything else to do. Give me a few hints though. BTW the
Silverstar is a great improvement over the standard bulbs. <
