Not exactly the topic being discussed here, but Rider just did an article on
ear plugs which has some interesting "tested" facts.  One of the most
interesting is that no helmet - full face, open face or whatever attenuates
wind noise at 70mph and up. They also blew away the argument you can hear
sirens, trains, etc without helmet.  I'm sure I'm not explaining these
correctly but it is a good article.

I tried the throat mike Emile talked about with a noise cancelling option.
It was marginal at 55-65mph.  It was useless above that.  Also, we found
that some people have a difficult time placing it in a good position on the
neck - large adam's apples and other such features would cause the mike to
move to a less than optimal position.
