Re: [ST] Rupert: Is this a concern?

Unwanted "observers" on email lists is an ongoing problem on all lists. I
agree that harvesting email addresses should be forbidden (illegal!) but
that is difficult to enforce.

Another list that I participate in has to be careful to avoid any appearance
of collusion to set prices or boycott products. We could get in a great deal
of trouble for such actions.

Those are/may not be problems associated with this list but it is a reminder
to always assume that others are reading our posts and we should be careful
to phrase our comments in ways that we wouldn't mind being read in public.

I'm with you, I don't like another outfit subscribing to our lists to
archive them without our consent. And their archives contain full email
addresses just waiting for spammers to harvest, sheesh. Who knows what
other ill that could be used for...

A listadmin for another list I'm on noticed their subscription and
silently unsubbed them from the list without notification...stopped 'em
and they haven't re-subbed since.
