[ST] Rallye want to?

OK, I have been here since November of 1998. 1998! How?
Well, I found Eric Shelly off his old T3 site and we started e-mailing and
then calling each other from Texas to Florida as we both had deposits down
and were waiting on our ST since Halloween of 1998. His came in around
January 12 of 1999 and mine was left on a dock between Georgia and Texas
but finally arrived on January 19, 1999. Eric started the ST web site and
e-mail traffic and we were off with others finding us at a steady pace.

Around March of 1999 I suggested in our e-mails that we met somewhere and
see each other face to face instead of internet names and pop. Lisa and
Richard are from the Houston area and she took on the responsibility of
polling everyone for a location and date. The Ozarks are pretty well
located for a lot of folks, have great roads, and the area is inexpensive
compared to a lot of other locations.
Please visit this site for our first ST Rallye:
http://www.tsra.cc/dawgs/index.html.
A lot of good folks came and we found that five of us lived in The Colony
(me), north of The Colony (David), Corinth (Dennis) ten minutes away, and
Dallas (Robert and Jenna)- next door.
Eric and Mark Hanke found that they both rode from Florida and lived about
twenty minutes apart.
Paul and Dee had already been about five thousand miles on a motorcycle
vacation and joined us from Pennsylvania.
Steven from Missouri and Gregg from Kansas and we had a great time except
for the Natural Bridge hike in leathers at 112 degree weather.
Around the pool that night the Rude Dawg was having a good time and Mark
Hanke said "Jack, I'll See You on the Dark Side of the Moon" and laughed.
Then someone said we should all get dog names and it started a naming
contest. Those Dawgs spell different than the honored one:-)
Soon there was Eric - Weasel Dawg, David - Bird Dawg, Lisa - Aqua Dawg,
Richard - Sly Dawg, Paul and Dee - Madd and Dinky, Mark - Big Dawg, Gregg -
Wiener Dawg, Steven - Dirty Dawg (He was given this name and if you ever
saw his bike at the time you would know why :-) ), Dennis - Rebel Dawg,
Robert - Retriever Dawg (we kept meeting him and Jenna instead of having
them in line?), etc.

Look at the pages and you can see we had a nice turnout at the three
Rallyes we held with the TSRA we started but it has fallen from grace. A
year ago I started to put on another one in the Ozarks but that didn't
happen either. Bummer.

The TSRA was started as much for insurance as anything sine one of the
riders never made it to the Rallye but was involved in a nasty crash on the
way and luckily survived. Another guest got separated from the group and we
found him beside the road with no knowledge of what had happened but his
bike was pretty bad and his concussion was not pleasant. Everyone was
afraid of what might happen if someone was seriously hurt, or worse, and
their family sued us for putting on a Rallye. I hate this sort of thing but
reality sat in. The membership was low, we had insurance, was a sanctioned
AMA event, and we all breathed easier.

What if I went to the Ozarks in the late spring or early fall and told
everyone where I was going? Would anyone be interested in maybe being in
the same area and just by accident ridding on the same roads that I rode?

Or, does anyone want to take up the reigns of the TSRA and if they do I
will organize, map, and put on a Rallye this year.

The gauntlet is thrown down Dawg Pound.
