Not to throw a wet blanket on your success, but sometimes batteries,
when they get old enough, dislodge a plate or otherwise
intermittently short internally. They symptom is that they
mysteriously go flat on (increasingly frequent) occasion. Sometimes
they'll hold a charge and sometimes they won't. Quite frustrating,
really.
Depending on the age of your battery you might want to have a new one
picked out and start a small rainy day fund for it.
