Why limit yourself, shoot for one tank!  If you think of it statistically, half the time you are going uphill and the other down on the BRP, so switch that puppy off on the downhill and save that second tank :-)   

I ride the BRP quite a bit because it is a shortcut for me into the Robbinsville - Franklin areas of NC and TN.  Everytime I ride the twisties, keeping the revs up and gears down my mileage is in the low forties, but if for whatever reason I can keep the rpms below 4K, I'm always pushing 50 mpg, if not above it.

If you are ever going from south of Boone to the Smokies on the BRP, let me know if you want some company.
