That's brilliant!

I cant believe I didn't think of that -its much easier to solder a
decent connection off the bike, I didn't fancy trying to crimp something
onto the wiring harness without solder, and there's much space to work
with a soldering iron inside that fairing.

Marc, why not just make a short jumper wire? Put the connectors you need
on each end and leave everything else alone?
